The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College and Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati announce the publication of Opener 30: Njideka Akunyili Crosby — Predecessors.

The catalogue, the latest in the Tang Museum’s Opener Series, features stunning full-color reproductions of Akunyili Crosby’s work from throughout her career, including the artist’s Predecessors series, which were brought together for the first time in the exhibition Njideka Akunyili Crosby: Predecessors, shown at the CAC Cincinnati from July 15 to October 1, 2017, and at the Tang from October 14 to December 31, 2017.

The catalogue features an in-depth interview between Akunyili Crosby and Ian Berry, the Dayton Director of the Tang Teaching Museum and the exhibition co-curator; and essays by Steven Matijcio, the exhibition co-curator formerly with the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati and now the director and chief curator of the Blaffer Art Museum at the University of Houston, and Malik Gaines, a writer and artist who is a member of the performance group My Barbarian, and Assistant Professor of Performance Studies, NYU, Tisch School of the Arts.
