Elevator Music 36
Takashi Murakami – Oval

Oval is a small object created by Takashi Murakami (b. 1962, Tokyo, Japan) for the Peter Norton Family Christmas Project, which has been commissioning an original artwork by a major artist each year since 1989. The work is from an edition of 3,000 and features familiar Murakami motifs such as the smiley-faced flower and the outsized eyeball.
Playing in the elevator will be music by Zak Yumiko, the Tokyo-based electronic music duo of Yumiko Ohno and Zak Onpa, from a mini CD-ROM which lives inside the base of the sculpture.
