In Dayton Director Ian Berry’s class “The Artist Interview,” Danielle St. Laurent told of her experience photographing the Oliverio/Kwon family. When she arrived to take the photograph, the younger daughter was having a meltdown and had to be bribed to cooperate with a Ring Pop. While the photograph doesn’t exactly relay that it was taken following a screaming match, there is a comforting realness. It makes me reflect on my own family’s “Ring Pop moments” during quarantine.
