Tyson is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs in central Oregon, home to the Warm Springs, Wasco, and Paiute tribes. In 1855, under the Middle Oregon Treaty, they were forced to leave their nearly ten million acres of land to move to a 578,000-acre reservation.
