A two-night event, Civil Society for Sale brought together Skidmore faculty from various departments to share their perspective on the relationship between different institutions in civil society and the market economy. For the second night’s event, the panel featured Rik Scarce (Sociology) on social movements, Rick Chrisman (Religion) on religion, John Brueggemann (Sociology), and Jennifer Delton (History) on academia. Following the panelists’ presentations, Skidmore students, faculty, and staff and Saratoga community members participated in a lively discussion.
