Speak Your Truth

What do you want the world to look like? Join us Thursday, October 10, at 7 pm, for Speak Your Truth, an event led by artist Yvette Molina that creates space for envisioning the world we want to live in.

Skidmore students are invited to sign up to wear Molina’s sculpture Speak Your Truth (Volcano Skirt) and share statements about what they want for themselves and their communities and what they hope to leave behind for future generations. Express your interest in writing and performing a 1–3-minute monologue via this Google form.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to share their own truths to be read aloud by the emcee via written submissions during the event.

Peer Health Educators will be available for Skidmore students looking for peer-to-peer support and wellness resources from 7 to 9 pm.

Speak Your Truth (Volcano Skirt) is an artwork currently on view in the exhibition Yvette Molina: A Promise to the Leaves.

This event is free and open to the public.
