Upbeat on the Roof with Dan Carr and the Cure for Asthma

A light-skinned man wearing a baseball cap gives a 'thumbs up' from the driver's seat of a vintage, white and blue truck camper with a hole showing the camper’s interior.

Join us Thursday, August 8, at 6 pm, for a performance by Dan Carr and the Cure for Asthma, a six piece Albany-based indie rock band on the lawn outside the Tang.

The band in their own words: “Deep within the piney hills of Albany New York, lurks a gaggle of obnoxious strummers, bangers, and sangers on an epic plot to take over all of Albany. Their music is so incredibly catchy, it will brainwash and destroy all the evil doers in Albany AND Troy. Rock, Country, distortion, they have it all. Tori, Juliana, Gabe, Joe, Sam, and Dan won’t stop ever.”

For its 23rd season, the Upbeat on the Roof summer series highlights regional musical talent every Thursday, July 11 through August 15, at 6 pm.

Performances take place on the lawn outside the Tang and are free and open to the public. Visitors are invited to bring picnic blankets, camping chairs, and their own food and drink to make it a night!

Crafts on the Grass

Tang Art Educators offer craft kits for kids at every concert, starting at 5:30! A different craft will be available each week. This week’s craft is Clothespin Cars! Participants are invited to create a car from clothespins and buttons. All projects are suitable for children aged 5 and up, with adult supervision recommended. Materials will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
