Jump into creativity! Join us Monday, October 16, at 4 pm, for Poetry at Work & Play, an art-inspired poetry-writing workshop. Olivia Berenson ’24 will introduce participants to ekphrastic poetry (a form of poetry that is used to describe visual art), then encourage them to begin writing as they explore the exhibition Unset Texts. The event will conclude with a discussion of our creative processes and a short reception, including food!

This workshop is the third of six in a series organized by Olivia Berenson ’24 as her capstone project for her 2022-23 Meg Reitman Jacobs ’63 Endowed Internship. The one-year, pre-professional internship for a Skidmore junior or senior focuses on education and public programming. The unique experience functions as a bridge between college and the world beyond.

No poetry-writing experience is necessary. This workshop is free and open to the public.
