Update: The event and the wait list are both at capacity and we are no longer taking registrations.

Ellsworth Kelly Studio and The Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College invite you to a celebration of the artist’s centennial with a rare tour of the studio and a dialogue with artists in response to the collage work of Ellsworth Kelly.

Ellsworth Kelly (1923-2015) was one of the world’s most important abstract painters, sculptors, and printmakers. He made upstate New York his home since 1970, and the studio where he worked has remained much as he left it. The critically acclaimed exhibition Ellsworth Kelly: Postcards, originally presented at the Tang Museum in 2021, features the artist’s lesser-known practice of creating collages on picture postcards, which he made throughout his career.

This special one-time event on Saturday, July 22, at 1 pm will be hosted by Ian Berry, Dayton Director of the Tang Museum, and Jack Shear, President of the Ellsworth Kelly Foundation, and will feature a panel of contemporary artists Taylor Davis, Jim Hodges and Matt Keegan. Registration and wait list are at capacity.
