Join us Thursday, March 23, at 6 pm, for the Entrepreneurial Artist Forum and Ten-Year Celebration, presented by the Arts Administration Program and the Entrepreneurial Artist Initiative.
Forum panelists include Skidmore College alumni-artists Kirsten Bassion ’97, Shaw Lennox ’20, Katarra Peterson ’09, and Madeleine Welsch ’17. The discussion will consider timely issues facing artist-entrepreneurs today as the world emerges from a pandemic with unexpected challenges and opportunities. Novilhelha Moleni ’22 will serve as moderator and President Marc C. Conner will provide opening remarks.
A celebratory reception will be held immediately following the forum to honor Molly Haley ’64 and her husband Ed Freitag. The Entrepreneurial Artist Initiative was the brainchild of Molly and has impacted hundreds of students and alumni since its founding in 2012.
The Entrepreneurial Artist Initiative at Skidmore College aims to provide studio art students with the business skills needed to build a successful career around their passion for art making. This is accomplished through course curriculum, workshops, and experiences in the field. Connecting students with entrepreneurial arts alumni, as well as arts and business professionals in the community, is an integral component of the program. The initiative is a part of Skidmore’s Arts Administration Program and was created and developed by Molly Haley ‘64. The program is supported by Molly and her husband, Ed Freitag.
