Join us Thursday, February 23, at 6 pm, for a screening of Johann Lurf’s cosmic exploration ★ (2017-19). Austrian structuralist filmmaker Lurf’s found-footage film takes us on an epic journey of how the night sky has been represented in the history of cinema. Told chronologically, the film’s images and sound come from hundreds of films. The film screens in conjunction with the exhibition Parallax: Framing the Cosmos, and as part of the series Whole Grain: Experiments in Film & Video.
The Tang Teaching Museum’s series Whole Grain explores classic and contemporary work in experimental film and video. Whole Grain is programmed by Assistant Director for Engagement Tom Yoshikami. All events are free and open to the public.
