Join us in person on Thursday, February 24, at 6 pm, for a Dunkerley Dialogue with artist Ruby Sky Stiler, whose work is on view in Opener 34: Ruby Sky Stiler—New Patterns and Skidmore Associate Professor of Psychology Casey Schofield.
Dunkerley Dialogues pair Skidmore professors with artists in a conversation format, which is often a catalyst for new connections and understandings across disciplines, and can spark new ideas for all participants. Dunkerley Dialogues are made possible by a generous gift from Michele Dunkerley ’80.
This event is free and open to the public.
Ruby Sky Stiler (b. 1979) has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Fairfield University Art Museum, Fairfield, CT: Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT; Locust Projects, Miami, FL; Saint-Gaudens Memorial Park, Cornish, NH; The Suburban, Oak Park, IL; and Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, OR. She has been included in group exhibitions at Socrates Sculpture Park, Queens, NY; The Berman Museum, PA; The Wellin Museum of Art, Clinton, NY; Providence College Galleries, Providence, RI, among many others. Casey Schofield, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Skidmore and licensed clinical psychologist. Her expertise is in the treatment of anxiety disorders, and her scholarship program focuses on understanding and addressing barriers to evidence-based therapies for anxiety and related disorders. She completed her postdoctoral training in perinatal mental health and her research program has recently returned to this focus – contending with the unique barriers that present for new mothers in the context of psychological suffering during pregnancy and postpartum. Outside of work she enjoys biking and skiing and time with her husband and young kids.
