NEW DATE: This event has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 3, at 6 pm, due to inclement weather.

Join us at 6 pm Tuesday, August 3 Thursday, July 29, for a performance by Laveda on the lawn outside the Tang. The genre blending dream pop/rock group sets nostalgic and cinematic moods with a ‘90s-esque sound reminiscent of The Sundays and My Bloody Valentine. Founded by Jake Brooks and Ali Genevich, the Albany-based duo released its acclaimed debut album What Happens After in 2020. Highly textural sounds back up dreamy lyrics for a sound that is equal parts thoughtful and danceable. This is the group’s Upbeat debut.

For its 20th season, the Upbeat on the Roof summer series highlights regional musical talent every Thursday, July 29 through August 19, from 6-7 pm.

Performances are free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors are invited to bring picnic blankets, camping chairs, and their own food and drink to make it a night! Due to COVID safety guidelines, space is limited, and all non-vaccinated visitors will be required to remain masked. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be canceled.
