Join us on Friday, April 24, from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM, in the Tang’s atrium, for a one-day sale of art & handmade items created by Skidmore College students in the Arts Administration’s Marketplace for Artists class and the Entrepreneurial Artist Initiative. Professor Elizabeth Dubben’s students will transform the foyer and atrium into a unique pop-up marketplace showcasing their original drawings, prints, ceramics, photography, textiles, jewelry, and more by talented emerging artists. Refreshments will be served!
The Handmade Pop-Up is sponsored by the Entrepreneurial Artist Initiative, the Arts Administration program and the Tang Teaching Museum.
The Entrepreneurial Artist Initiative at Skidmore College aims to provide studio art students with the business skills needed to build a successful career around their passion for art making. This is accomplished through course curriculum, workshops, and experiences in the field. Connecting students with entrepreneurial arts alumni, as well as arts and business professionals in the community, is an integral component of the program. The initiative is a part of Skidmore’s Arts Administration Program and was created and developed by Molly Haley ’64. The program is supported by Molly and her husband, Ed Freitag.
Handmade Pop-up Shop will be the first of three end-of-semester events celebrating student creativity at the Tang.
