Family Saturday: Futuristic Environments

A group of ballet dancers dressed as bees in a futuristic beehive setting.
Frank Moore (1953–2002) and Jim Self (born 1954), still from Beehive, 1985, 16mm film transferred to digital video, 15:45 minutes, Tang Teaching Museum collection, gift of the Gesso Foundation, 2019.6.3

Looking at the Beehive Project, a collaborative work by Frank Moore and Jim Self in the exhibition Beauty and Bite, we will create our own 3-D “stage” where we imagine a futuristic world where people and all creatures of our home planet Earth coexist in harmony!

Family Saturdays foster multigenerational creative cooperation through looking at artwork, discussing it, and engaging in a hands-on art activity. Most programs run from 2:00 – 3:30 pm and include a tour of a specific exhibition.

All Family Saturdays are free and open to the public, and suitable for children ages 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions.

All materials provided; be prepared to get messy and have fun. And dress accordingly!

Reservations are required and may be made one week in advance of each program. For additional information and reservations, call the Tang’s Visitor Service Desk at 518-580-8080.
